About Me

I received a PhD in History in 2019 from The Ohio State University. My research dealt with the anti-apartheid movement in the United States, but it was in graduate school that I began writing more broadly. I’ve contributed to publications including the Washington Post, Teen Vogue, and the LA Times. My favorite topics tend to deal with history, food, and music, but I tend to have pretty eclectic interests.

While in graduate school, I also began working as a curriculum developer on history and social studies topics. I’ve worked on material for most of the K-12 age group as well as materials for college students. Some of the companies I’ve worked for include Wisewire, Six Red Marbles, Contentra, and Certica.

Today, I work as a software developer while also working as a freelance writer.
